Resources North Association

Agroforestry

Resources North was awarded funding through Western Economic Diversification Canada to deliver a workshop on agroforestry as economic diversification options for communities of central BC affected by the mountain pine beetle epidemic.  By growing trees and crops or livestock in interacting combinations, this contributes to the diversification and sustainability of production.  Agroforestry production opportunities are diverse and can include crops such as Christmas trees, florals and landscaping plants, berries, fruit trees, vegetables or grains, herbs or medicinal plants, etc.

Resource materials that were made available to participants included:
  * Letter of Welcome from Resources North
  * Speakers Biographies
  * Agroforestry Resources List
  * Agri-Food Funding Programs
  * Agroforestry BC Brochure
  * Buy BC Wild Directory
  * NTFPs in Canada’s Model Forests

Proceedings from the Agroforestry Workshop delivered in Prince George, BC on December 3-4, 2009 include a compilation of presentation summaries and discussions that took place during the workshop.  The Presentations are available below for downloading under the name of the presenter.
