Round Table on Technology Skills Shortages
A Round Table on Technology Skill Shortages summit will be held in Prince George on January 16th at the College of New Caledonia. CNC President, John Bowman, ASTTBC Executive Director, John Leech, and other business, industry and community leaders will meet to learn of current initiatives and develop a broad strategic approach that will ensure the capacity to deliver technology enterprise throughout Northern BC. Previously delegates identified solutions, confirmed commitments and provided input on the development of a major BC technology human resources strategy for Technology Skills 2020 to be drafted by ASTTBC for publication in the early part of 2008. http://www.asttbc.com/RTSS/

Chili Networking Night (CNN)
The CIF is once again hosting an annual student/employer networking event on Thursday February 7th. Employers are invited to attend and bring their best chili receipt. Students from CNC and UNBC forestry programs will circulate and sample each chili. In the end a winner will be announced, there will be prizes and lots of networking will have occurred. Details.
Northern Silviculture Committee Meeting
Looking for networking opportunities? The NSC encourages student participation each year. CNC will have their second year class there this year. Lots of UNBC students will be circulating.
