A Success - Kamloops Forum on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Tools
If We Snooze, Do We Lose? This was the title the Living by Water Project chose for its September 29, 2006 forum in Kamloops on adapting to the impacts of climate change. Sarah Kipp reports that the forum was a successful stimulant to dialogue in the Thompson-Nicola-Shuswap region. “We borrowed the idea of café sessions from the May workshop that McGregor Model Forest project organized in Prince George,” she said. “They helped contribute to a balance of science presentations and community dialogue.” The 65 participants came from a wide variety of sectors. A report on the forum results will be posted in early 2007 on the website for the Living by Water’s climate change adaptation project: www.naturalists.bc.ca.
